The Hopeless Ghosts was recorded at WaveLab Studio, Tucson AZ, with members of Calexico, and Grant-Lee Phillips on harmony vocals.
Inspired by the late, great Townes Van Zandt (who, when asked in an interview why his songs were so sad, replied that he had a few that weren’t sad, that they were just hopeless, about hopeless situations. It was an idea that really stuck with me).
