Glen Phillips and Grant Lee Phillips on Cayamo 2013 Music Cruise

Robyn Hitchcock - McCabe's Guitar Shop - Santa Monica - 2012-01-21

Robyn Hitchcock
McCabe's Guitar Shop
Santa Monica, CA
January 21, 2012

Robyn Hitchcock

David Rawlings (guitar, vocals)
Gillian Welch (guitar, vocals)
Grant Lee Phillips (vocals, occasional piano)

Two separate ticketed shows.  8pm and 10pm

Spectacular show.  Early show was an all request show.  If someone asked for it, Robyn played it.  Grant Lee Phillips guested occasionally on backing vocals and general hi-jinx.  Late show was an Eye show.  Complete performance (almost) of the 1990 CD Eye plus a long encore.  David Rawlings, Gillian Welch, and Grant guested during this set.  David was onstage for most of the set.  Over three hours of great music and hilarity.  As far a Robyn Hitchcock shows go, this is as good as it gets.  Fantastic sound. No issues.  Yes, I spent forever turning down the laughing woman in Early Show.  One laugh at a time.

The two shows were recorded by two different tapers using the same gear.  There are no fades between discs.  If you don't burn to CDs, shows will play seamlessly.

Sonics>Battery Box>Edirol R-09HR>ProTools (for level adjustment, compression, eq, and song separation)>flac.
